Godward Guthrie Architecture Ltd is an NZIA registered practice formed in 1999 by directors, Matthew Godward and Julian Guthrie. The practice specializes in high quality residential architecture, retail and commercial interiors and commercial projects.

Matthew Godward
Matthew was born in Auckland in 1969 and studied Architecture at Auckland University, graduating with honours and the senior scholar commendation in 1993. Matthew worked with a commercial Auckland practice before moving to London for several years where he specialized in retail interiors. Since returning to Auckland and establishing Godward Guthrie Architecture Ltd, Matthew has specialized in retail design, receiving several design awards. This success has led to larger commercial projects where Matthew has been responsible for both the building design as well as the commercial interior.
Julian Guthrie
Julian was born in Auckland in 1970 and studied Architecture at Auckland University, graduating in 1993. Julian spent several years working as a design architect for an Auckland practice where he worked on many private houses as well as high density housing and apartment projects. Upon establishing Godward Guthrie Architecture Ltd, Julian has continued to focus on high quality private houses and holiday homes, as well as luxury apartments and townhouses. Many of Julian's completed projects have been published in both New Zealand and international publications and have received several Architecture awards.
